Cannot change text from LaTex to another formatting type

I usually cycle through keyboard shortcuts to get the formatting that I’m looking for.
Was trying to create an inline code text and accidentally turned my notes on File Naming conventions into LaTex.

Text is trapped. No formatting toolbar. Text formatting keyboard shortcuts do not work.

The undo keyboard shortcut also doesn’t work after LaTex is applied…
