I know this, because I’m making a sister company where all of the details are the same bar the location, so I was going to call it “[Company Name] - [Location B]” and rename the original to “[Company Name] - [Location A]”
It would be nice that it could detect potential duplicates and allow users to rectify any issues within a pop-up.

We discussed the duplicate action during the development, but skipped it because we didn’t find a decent, easy-to-implement solution.
When unique values are required, we cannot duplicate entities without the additional user input, as you’ve pointed out.
If we see this issue popping up often, we’ll figure something out.
Meanwhile, you can create your own custom Duplicate Button and Ask user for the unique Field value:
