Currently the weekly view only works when you have a “Date and Time” field, and the view wasn’t made for getting your upcoming week at a glance.
As I was working on a Repeating Entities template, I got to this as a possible solution for a Weekly view using some automations:
Template: https://shared.fibery.io/t/3734dcf9-62ff-44c0-89e5-f91f2a47b0f1-weekly-view
You do need some setup to get it working:
- Go to the “Date” database, and add one entity as your starting date. (Can be today, or anything in the past)
- Go to the “Make next day” rule, and spam that “Run Now” button some times. (However long in the future you want to see your “weekly view”. 7 days in the future will probably be enough for this use case)
And you’re done! Now every day, it will automatically create another day for you to use.
You all probably already have a “Task” database set up, so you’ll need to just copy the relation set up and the two rules that are set up in the “Task” database in the template as an example.
I hope this is helpful!
Sidenote: I’m working on a fully fleshed out “Dates Integration” so it will pull the dates, months, quarters, and years in the integration. Then you can see entities grouped by month, quarter, year, etc. Only thing I’m not sure is how the drag and drop should work when oing from month to month. Perserve the date, change the month? Or change to the first date of the month. Will update this post once ready!
