Symmetric resizing when holding option key on whiteboard

Problem description

Currently, when resizing a card on the Fibery whiteboard, the resizing happens only from one side, while the other side remains fixed. This makes it difficult to keep the card centered in its original position during resizing.

Proposed solution

Implement a feature where, when holding the option (Alt) key while dragging to resize a card, the resizing occurs symmetrically from the center - expanding or contracting equally in both directions. This would keep the center of the card fixed in its original position.

Reference example:

I recorded a comparative video demonstrating the current problem in Fibery and how the solution already works in Whimsical. In Whimsical, holding the option key during resizing keeps the object centered, providing a more intuitive user experience.

Benefits

  • Better control over layout and alignment of elements on the board
  • More efficient workflow when reorganizing and resizing cards
  • More consistent user experience with other design tools
  • Preservation of relative positioning between elements during resizing

This is OK, but the bigger problem I have is that I am always adding images to whiteboards, and it is critical that I don’t change the aspect ratio of the image when I move it around or resize it. In all other apps, I would grab the corner square and drag the image, and it would maintain the aspect ratio while re-sizing. If I wanted to stretch the image, I would drag from the middle of the edge.

This is a bad situation for me. Am I missing something?

All right - I found how to do it. I need to hold the shift key and drag. That maintains the aspect ratio !!! Tanks fibery AI :kiss_mark:
