Custom Apps Improvements

We are still working on Custom Apps and are quite close to the public launch (most likely first week of August). Several improvements in today’s release:

  • Change model inside a single session. Start with Sonnet, switch to Opus, or vice versa
  • Custom Apps build process includes test step, it will automatically find and fix obvious errors, so you should have better results and functional apps from less shots
  • Upload files to Custom Apps builder, thus you can use screenshots, design draft or other images to help AI decide what to build better

Now we are working on:

  • Apps versioning
  • An option to include Apps into Space Templates
  • An ability to create Apps from your own development environment (Codex, Claude Code, etc)
  • An ability to select some part on UI and ask to change it

You can still enable Apps in SettingsExperimental Lab to create something useful. Note that Apps are stable now and will not be changed drastically in public release. Users already created 200+ various apps.

Automations Activity History

Now you can see history of changes for automation rules and buttons. History tracking starts today, so for old rules it will be empty.

In the next releases we will add Undo of changes and allow to see details of the changes in some sane format.

:butterfly: Improvements

  • MCP Server:
    • Now you can create, update and delete Report Views from your favorite AI tool
    • Now Fibery AI and MCP Server can add color rules to all Views
  • :face_with_tongue: Fields: Now you can convert Number Field from Decimal to Integer. Just select 0 decimal places and confirm that you are OK with the rounding of all existing values
  • Billing: Admins are now notified when their workspace approaches or reaches the AI credits limit — in addition to the banner in the sidebar
  • Permissions: to share a Form that has a People Field on it or to create an automation Rule that assigns people, you’d need access to all Users now
  • Export: added an indicator that workspace export is in progress
  • UI: Fixed the styles in the “Share to web” dialog and made them consistent across Entities, Documents, and Forms

:shrimp: Fixed Bugs

  • Permissions:
    • Not User-specific capabilities are shown in access audit on Manage access screen
    • Architect without Everyone+ access to Users can create an automation rule with User in Markdown
  • Whiteboard:
    • Comments threads cannot be closed by clicking outside and cannot be reopened when closed by [x] be close
    • Cycle through overlapping shapes by clicking on the same spot
  • Forms:
    • Error screen does not fit to the mockups
    • Scroll does not work in the Fields list in the mobile app
    • It’s impossible to select default value for any select-field right after Form creation
  • Sidebar: When clicking ‘+’ from the sidebar, the menu opens empty before the items appear
  • Documents / Rich Text: Create Entity from rich text database selector still using db-icons instead of badges
  • Extra Credits: Hide ‘Extra Usage’ section for Enterprise plan for Automations and Integrations
  • Trash: When filter by schema events using one-of it actually excludes Fields and Db when Space is added

P.S. Your feedback is welcome!

This is great! Custom apps has been the single biggest leap forward in usability, changing Fibery from a prettified database view that you still had to train users to ‘think like a database’ to a full-out app that non-technical users have no problem using.

Thank you for change model inside a single session!
I’d noticed test steps added and they are working well.
Uploading files to Custom Apps builder is great because we can layout the app in ChatGPT or manually and then say — build this.
This is huge, looking forward to it! → An ability to create Apps from your own development environment (Codex, Claude Code, etc)
This could be really really useful, I’ve had a huge jump in image creation accuracy with ChatGPT’s similar functionality → An ability to select some part on UI and ask to change it

Keep it up!!

Really like this improvement; interested to see how well it performs. I’ve been working on a few different custom apps over the last week & find that I’m using a significant number of credits on bug resolution.
At this time, it’s not prohibitive, but it does feel as though I should not be charged the same number of credits due to failures of the agent - especially when getting stuck in a debug loop or running through multiple cycles where the bug doesn’t actually get fixed.
I know similar AI app builders like Zite don’t charge for debugging when you switch the mode from Build to Bug Reporting. Something like that would be really beneficial, here.

Also REALLY excited about this. Was definitely a limitation for me in previous builds.

Great progress. Thanks for all the work. I must say that I have not tried them much because of one main drawback: lack of easy, centralised, cross-app components. In other words, if we develop an app well, and then need to reuse its components inside another one. Of course, it is far too early in the roadmap of the Custom Apps, for such a feature, I imagine.

Yes, thank you.

I can’t get this to work. The agent can’t see my files. I’ve tried .txt and .png files. I get errors that look like this.

I am using Fibery Desktop app for Windows 11.

Looks like a bug or deployment error, we are checking this

OMG, turned out we forgot to deploy this service :person_facepalming:. Now it works. Sorry for that
