Entity/Relation view "snap back" to default

I want the option to force entity views and relation views to “snap back” to the default view every time I leave the page.

I understand why this isn’t the default. Views are great for people choosing different layouts that works for them. But, there are some entities where my extra “views” are more like settings pages. They are the additional options that I don’t want to clog the default view with. Same with some additional relation views.

For example, my task entities have an “Advanced Settings” view. It is annoying to update the advanced setting for one task and then go to another task and be confronted with that settings view instead of the main task page. It’s a small friction point that I can see confuses some people in my company when they are working.

For these types of entities (and relation views), as the admin I want to be able to enable a setting to force the page returns to the default view every time it is loaded.

I know it’s not exactly what you are asking for, but given that you describe the entity views you don’t want to use very often are like settings pages, I wonder if you could use entity view hiding rules so that those views are only visible when you are in architect mode, and then get hidden in user mode

It’s a good thought, but no not really what I’m looking for. These advanced settings are actually for my users!
