Collapse expand Feed item

Feeds show the complete rich text field and if that contains lot of text, the feed cannot be easily managed through scrolling to the next items. One solution would be to allow collapse expand by clicking on the title of the feed item. Currently clicking on the title results in the right panel to open the entity, which functionality needs to be retained. So what could be a solution is to Ctrl-click the title to make it collapse/expand, while just clicking on it would open up the second panel.

Maybe by default show only the first n lines, and add a “See more” link, e.g.:

Both mentioned options would help a lot.
I would love to be able to define the first n characters to be shown. (see more)

The user should also be able to collapse /open feed items (e. g. to unclutter long lists).

In addition to that a configuration to collapse / uncollapse by default would be super helpful. A simple check field from the source entity could define whether an entity is collapsed or open by default within the feed.

This would enhance the great feed view very much

Ya the way information display overwhelms myself a lot. Some thing my feed view just for 1 week only I have to scroll down a lot to the right point where I wanna find

Agree! Added my vote. It would allow the use of feed as sections of rich text (with permissioning capabilities).

The feed view can become incredibly powerful with just a few tweaks.
It is the only way to embed other entities including their rich text field.
Any updates or hope in this tweak?

I think of this multiple times a week. We use a feed view to show our stand ups on my team (The Check In template but modified).
+1 for the idea of collapsing however I think given my support of standardizing the control + click short cut as a way to open items in new tabs, I would recommend a different shortcut and maybe even a disappearing tooltip like we have for copying markdown or getting the link to a header.

I also like @Matt_Blais idea of “show more”, but believe making that a default state would break existing Feed views. I love some of the additional points about turning this into a view setting, so some views can display the full text and others display a user-defined character or word count.

Here another great way to utilize Feed views:

When they would support ‘threaded’ views of full entities, so they become a proper Thread View collection field display that uses relations to show nested including their rich text field.

This would hopefully accelerate the replacement of the current limited comment system in Fibery to a more integrated entity-based system that allows ANY database to show threads of its entities.
