Kia ora Fibery whānau! (greetings Fibery family!)
I’m from Ōtautahi Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand.
My ‘why’ is helping people connect with each other and the places they share. Hence, my mahi/work is neighbourhood development (which you may know as placemaking, destination development, community development, place-led development etc…). Anyways, I focus on specific localities, and facilitate connections between stakeholders in the area so they can go from strangers to neighbours and we talk about things like values. Then I facilitate projects that progress shared goals of the neighbourhood. I’m currently doing a feasibility study for a carnival and grappling with databases - within my ‘Listen and Lean In’ app, I have segments based on the communities which people identify as being part of, contacts, conversations, interviews, ideas…

Next, I need to add in my data around each of the various huis/community meetings I’ve facilitated, and the surveys that I need to do next.

Re meetings; wondering whether to poach bits from the event management app, or project management app. I want to capture attendance state (invited/declined/rsvpd/apologies/attended). And within the meeting pane, see notes, link to ideas/actions, and create projects. What do I then do with those, I wonder? Not gantt charts thanks. Many of us are neurodiverse (including me - ADHD) so visual/spatial is the way, nothing reliant on working memory and time estimation. Projects should have a description. A project champion. Interested parties (may become future volunteers, sponsors or advocates).

The feasibility study has a total budget of $10K, which has gone on my time to facilitate it, venue hire, manaakitanga/hospitality, guest speaker fees etc. I’d like to capture this at the high level, but where any spend is particularly relevant to a particular meeting, to also see that spend in that pane.

Again, complicated stuff, too detailed, time estimates, I’m hopeless at. But I am deeply interested in systems and the idea of the external brain, that’s why I’m here. I’d love to eventually develop something based on Fibery that I can use with other neighbourhoods I work with, so I’m always thinking about applicability.

Finally, I need to craft some surveys. My dream is that when I send out the survey (using SurveyMonkey or something else?) then each person’s replies will appear in their contact card, as well as will also autopopulate question, by question, in the survey card.
