# Separate "description" for formula fields

This isn’t a very interesting request, so bear with me.

Currently, there is a Description area for all fields that acts as a tooltip:

This is great and useful! But, when you have a formula field, this is the text area that “prompts” the AI as to how to build the formula:

I would like to be able to show users a tooltip description for formula fields that is not the prompt used for the generation of the formula. (At the very least, I would like some way to hide the prompt from the users.)

Suggestion:

1. Add a Prompt text area to formula fields that is specific to prompting the AI. The contents of this field would not appear to users.
2. Use the existing Description text area of the formula fields to be used as it is used in other field types, which is displayed as a tooltip.

Once you have asked AI to build the formula from your prompt, you can overwrite the text box with a description (which will then be used for the tooltip).  
Just remember not to press the ‘Generate using AI’ button a second time!

Thanks, Chris. I was hoping to avoid losing the prompt used to create the formula. Plus, this is an inconsistent use of the “Description” field that shows unintended info to users, so I thought it might be an oversight.
