# In board view, it's allowed to create when grouped by read only field, but then throws an error

In table and list, when grouping by a read only field, its not possible right click and add inside (good!), but this functionality is not extended to board view. The “New” buttons under each (read only) column work, and data can be inputted, but then when you press enter it throws an error.

Ideally if it’s read only the new is either grayed out or not shown.
