I would like to remove all time values from a date field but the option is greyed out now that data is associated with the dates. Is there a way to remove it as its causes date to shift due to UTC. I have a lot of data referencing those fields so deleting and create a new one would be a huge undertaking

Thanks

Yes, it would be nice to be able to “upgrade” or “downgrade” various different field types.

E.g. for numeric fields, to reduce the number of decimal places (truncating data if necessary).

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to change a field type from date-time to just date, but if you create a new field, it shouldn’t be too hard to copy the relevant dates over (e.g. using an automation).
If you then delete the original date-time field, then you will be notified if you’ve broken any lookups or formulas that depend on it.
