I would love for [whiteboards to be a part of relation views](https://community.fibery.io/t/allow-whiteboards-to-be-views-in-relations-just-like-lists-tables-boards/5903) (see @interr0bangr’s idea).

But until that happens, I’m trying to utilize the whiteboard field on entity views. With all the great improvements to whiteboard over the last year, I want to start using them more. My biggest problem with the whiteboard field is that it has no filter capabilities and therefore is too easy to “steal” a whiteboard from another entity. So if I add a whiteboard field to an entity view, users can accidentally link the wrong whiteboard if moving too quickly and now that whiteboard is unavailable on the original entity.

If the compact list version of the whiteboard field had filter/sort rules similar to a compact list version of a relation, then I could set it to only show whiteboards that don’t have an entity relation so that it can’t be stolen.

I’m only advocating for this if the idea below is no where on the roadmap.

I can see it working exactly like lists and tables do, with a “levels” setting that would determine how the entities would be visually linked to each other. It would also be cool if cards on the canvas would be automatically positioned on “sort” options!
