The Duplicate action should copy the value of a to-one relation field, but not the values of a to-many relation field. This means that the values for a one-to-many self-relation will not be duplicated

Indeed. In most cases, with a limited (and fixed) set of relations, it’s possible to create a set of automations that achieve a well-defined cloning process. It’s just that each person’s implementation is likely to be slightly different. Good luck.
