Currently the only way to “reorder” anything in Rich Text fields seems to be cut and paste.

It would very useful to be able to drag the current element (or the current selection) to move it.

Also I would expect that moving (or cutting and pasting) a collapsed section would also move its collapsed contents – but it does not.

If you’ve [experimented with Pages](https://community.fibery.io/t/changelog-april-1-page-made-of-blocks-experimental-open-calendar-timeline-canvas-views-in-panel/2674), you will already have an idea of where documents/rich-text elements are heading, including re-ordering via drag and drop.

Drag-to-reorder in Pages seems limited to **blocks** currently, but I would also still like to be able to reorder individual checklist/bullet items, and selected text.

Well, it is possible to drag and drop text and lists (but no, not reorder individual list items unfortunately).

How are people working around this these days? I am trying to leverage more rich text fields these days but the experience has been a step down from other block editors.

We have experimented with that, but it is far from great

> We have many requests to drag and drop paragraphs, list items and so on in rich edit area. Now we implemented a prototype, like an experimental feature, to make it happen. You can use Esc button (or Cmd + click) on any block to select it and then you can drag and drop it. You can push Esc several times to select top level blocks. See how it works and try for yourself. It is interesting to hear your feedback!
