I think the [ongoing blocks work](https://community.fibery.io/t/in-dev-migrate-entity-view-to-blocks/2005) may help with improving the entity view, but perhaps not explicitly allowing multiple alternative layouts.  
Beyond that, [individual layouts](https://community.fibery.io/t/individual-layouts-for-a-node-hide-fields-etc/995) is certainly on the timeline, but hard to know when it will become WIP.
