This has become an increasing issue with nested entities, the ability to collapse or expand hierarchical rows in table/list/board views.

> I have a generic entity type ‘page’ that is used a lot, and relates to itself through a field ‘parent page’. In a list view, this is displayed through collapsable and expandable rows. Over time, such list display becomes complex and opening closing parts of the hierarchy is tedious and gives massive cognitive overload. Solution: add a button to Collapse all / expand all hierarchically related entities in the view.

> Hi, It would be great to be able to collapse / uncollapse all rows of a board with a button. When we have 20+ rows with multiple cards in it, and 5+ columns, collapsing really helps to have a clear view of one specific topic, but it is very tedious to have to close all other rows manually if we want to have this clean view. Here are some simple icons that Frontapp uses for this, for example : [Collapse and uncollapse] Thank you, Xavier

If you open the entity using Space, hitting Esc works as expected and closes the entity panel on the right. The same issue occurs if you use a grid cell’s right-click/popup menu to open the enti…

+1

We mostly have large datasets in grid views. There it’s a real bummer that you can’t collapse/expand all entities at once. But also in other views it would be very helpful.

See above how it could look like.

The use case here is that with a nested tree of entities, some branches are expanded, others are collapsed. Manually expanding/collapsing them is tedious, so an option
‘ **Collapse Tree** ’ or ‘ **Expand Tree** ’ is useful in the right-click menu.
The nested tree UNDER the right-clicked entity would be expanding/collapsing.

Once, I had accidentally clicked “Expand All” over my `node_modules` folder in WebStorm IDE, and it made me very unhappy.

It is killing me not being able to expand and collapse all items/hierarchies in a list in one click. Being able to do that would allow me to actually be able to use the list views for anything more than just a handful of entities (and preferably also having a setting that lets you choose by default if you want lists to be completely expanded, collapsed, or “leave as-is per the last time you used the list”).

Is this something that will ever be done?

Not that I’d leave Fibery or stop advocating for it because of this, but just something that surprised me when I started trying to nest stuff in lists, it’s a big flow disrupter. Could be one of those QOL things that thwarts potential Notion converts…but then again (on an unrelated note), Notion doesn’t have even more essential stuff like contextual relation selection filter/sorts, so any SANE person would still pick Fibery over Notion despite this current limitation 😉

I really hope soon, it honestly is a big UX issue on our part to the point that we haven’t really been using multi level views at all because of it.
