When the Create action is fired from a button, there in fields section, the options are:

- Add a Formula
- Ask User
- Call AI
- Clear the Field value

I am writing a shallow copy action which requires users to change some field values and optionally change others. I would like to prepopulate the fields with the original entity’s values, but then let users change the text/select/multiselect where they see fit — in other words, run the formula but then allow edit.

But “default value” is a simpler idea than “Action, triggered upon entity creation, etc”, and would be easier to maintain, since you can easily update a Field’s definition from the entity view. It would also be useful to define Default Values via Formula for Text fields. Again, simpler to edit/maintain than an Action, since the Field definition can be edited direc…

Keep the existing mechanism for specifying default values, which would override anything copied from the template entity. In Fibery Search results, show Forms with a button to invoke the Form (create a new entity). Currently the only Search result for a Form edits the Form. Similarly, where a form appears in the Left Menu, clicking on it edits the Form (for Cre…

This is one of the biggest limitations in Fibery at the moment: Good data input. This would make thing so much better for the end user.

In my opinion, this is what the “Default Value” feature which was released last month should be doing, but it’s still just a static value and not a formula which would be ideal. Maybe validation rules could only the possible values for the user to fill? Or a new mechanism to create this.

Note: I would like to see this both in Button press “Forms” as well as normal form views, personally. Is that within the scope of your idea here? Or separate?

(Side note, I am surprised I never put up a post on this, since this was the main blocker when making [hubspot in fibery](https://youtu.be/zDArQ7fuys0) , getting new activities to prepolulate suggested related deals, companies, and contacts, but allowing the user to adjust before saving. Without it it means the user has to take way too many steps just to add a single entity. So thank you for posting this!!)

Hey! Indeed I found the posts that exist for this, I think this is a duplicate, what do you think? @AdVhPkgKad
Exact:

Pre-population of internal forms. When adding an entity from within another entity’s relationship, it nicely pre-populated the relevant form field with the entity I am adding from. However, I would love to be able to pre-populate from other relationships this entity may have. Such as the company the contact i linked to, or (a bit …
