Often when I want to create or edit an automation rule, it’s sparked by an idea or need I have when I’m within an entity and it’s annoying to have to have to go all the way to the database settings to get to the rule interface. Just like there is a “Configure Fields” option in the context menu of an entity, could you please add a “Configure Rules” option as well?

Yes, that would be great!

Note that you can navigate to database setup very fast by clicking on database badge in entity view

Yes, that is what I referred to with

> **The database rule configuration page** ( click database name \> find and expand Rules \> click rule). I prefer the database rule configuration page, which I often leave open in a new browser tab when working with it.

However, thats I find that not ‘very fast’ 😉 - a lot of clicks and still you need to scroll and search for the right rule.

**This requires at least 10 user actions:**

1. Click the database badge in current entity view. (At this point, the current entity view context is ‘lost’, there is no way to go back other than the backbutton in the browser)
2. Click ‘Expand Sidebar’ or hover the left window edge (which I have closed by default)
3. The UI automatically scrolls down to the database (thank you ;-)). Still you need to sroll to the ‘Rules’ section
4. Click to Expand the Rules section
5. Scroll down and identify to the wanted Rule to edit.
6. Click the Rule to edit
7. Edit and save Rule
8. The current entity view is not accessible, we are stuck in the rule configuration page. So we have to click the _back button of the browser_. two times (this is very bad UX). The first click gets us back to the database entity list view.
9. The second click on the back button gets us to the original current entity view
10. This sequence we repeat as many times as we need to edit the rule.

**Alternative workaround, add step:**
Step 1.1. Right-click the database badge in the current entity view.
Step 1.2 Select ‘Open in new browser tab’ (depending on your browser).
Drawbacks of the workaround:

- Separating over multiple browser tabs, when we have other pages open is very confusing, people have often many tabs open.
- When working with multiple versions of a rule, or multiple rules, this becomes problematic, too much dependency on the browser features (like browser tabs groups).

**Suggested solutions:**

- Quick solution: Allow one-click access to ‘pinned rules’ in the entity view.
- Recommended solution: Implement a more robust Automations and (AI) [Workflows workspace](https://community.fibery.io/t/improving-ai-workflow-tools-in-fibery/7964) where users can pin and organize rules they are working on.

Yep. The 3 bolded points are the most annoying for me.

This is an annoyance for us as well.
One thought here if Fibery intends to preserve the current design:

1. Keep existing “Database Badge → Database Configure”
2. Current entity is minimized into a floating bottom tab (similar to Clickup, or even Fibery bulk action bar) and the sidebar state (expanded/collapsed) is saved
3. Fibery automatically opens sidebar and scrolls to database where all relative sections (Fields, Buttons, Rules, etc) are automatically expanded.
4. When done configuring, user can click the minimized entity tab to get back to the entity and the previous sidebar state is returned.

Another, more radical idea is to make configuration similar to Discourses modal editor I’m writing in at this very moment. This way, all configurations can be edited while working in entities simultaneously and the window can be resized or expanded 🤷‍♂️🤡
