# Change assignee after moving item to the new state

It would be great to have automated assignment when the user changes state in the item (bug for instance).

Yes, this is a basic Automation and eager for these!

Top of my list is the ability to change Workflow State with a button, or alter a date field. For example, when you click “done” set up an automation that would fill in a date-type field with the date “today.” You could then compare to another date field “original due date” and see how a team’s tracking on actual vs. planned dates.
