# Another nitpicky whiteboard issue: Copying colored text

When I copy text and try and paste it into a new text box, the color is not copied. Instead, the color I most recently used is applied. Text formatting like italics is copied though. I would expect color to behave like italics is behaving in the video below.

Hi @tycecycle

We don’t allow to set text color partially atm. So text color is applied to whole Text Box and as you’ve created a new one before copying it inherits the most recently used color. See that your cursor is already green.

We have a feature in the backlog for that. I’ll add your feedback there. Thanks.
