# Allow rich text fields conditions in automations

I tried to create a condition which gets triggered when a simple text field (‘Short’) is updated, on the condition where a rich text field ‘Definition’ is empty.

However, the rich text field is not available in the field select list.

How can I work around this?  
Will this be improved in the future?

Hi!  
That 's a problem that we don’t support rich text formulas at the moment  
Workaround is - create a field on the db level, that indicates whether RT field is empty or not  
(this guide may help [. | Fibery](https://the.fibery.io/@public/User_Guide/Guide/How-to-check-whether-the-Rich-Text-is-empty-script-workaround-119_)  
And then use the result in automations 🙂
